Create Stone
by Bree

1. For this tutorial, create a new Photoshop document, 640x480 in RGB mode.
2. Make a new layer and name the new layer stone.
3. Choose any color for the foreground and white for the background. I used blue and white.
4. Go Filter --> Render ---> Clouds. This is randomly generated so yours might look different from mine.

4. Next, go Filter --> Render --> Difference Clouds.

5. Now go Filter --> Stylize --> Emboss. Set Angle to 135 degrees. Amount should be 300%. Height can be whatever you like. Mine is set to 4. Click OK.

6. You have Stone!! You can use this as a background or you can use it as a patterm for a fill.

7. To use as a pattern, select all. Then go Edit --> Define pattern. Name the pattern "stone."
8. Make a new layer. Use the type tool mask and type whatever you like (a red mask will appear -- don't worry it will disappear).
9. Click on the type layer and the red mask will disappear and the outline of your type will remain.
10. Go to Edit --> Fill and fill with your pattern. Press Control D to deselect.
11. Now add a drop shadow by using the shortcut button at the bottom of the layers palette (it looks like an "f") or go Layer --> Layer Style --> Drop Shadow.
12. Adjust settings to your pleasure and you'll end up with something like the above "Netpond."
