Creating and growing a successful TGP

INTRODUCTION:

There are many things one has to optimize in order to create and grow a successful TGP. I am going to break up my article into sections, so that it is easier to read. I will talk about 5 important things, so there will be 5 sections.

1. HOSTING

First, one has to choose a good, reliable host. A host that is suitable for your needs. I personally use revsharehosting, http://www.revsharehosting.com?refercode=5442 , which is a free host, but it takes 20% of your revenue. It is a good deal for me, because i burn a LOT of bandwidth. Now, if you site is going to be mostly text, you probably should choose a cheap paid host, in this case you will not burn a lot of bandwidth, so it will be cheaper this way.

2. SPONSORS

There are 2 sponsors that I personally think are very good for starting up, especially for newbies. This is, because these sponsors pay in cents, (small amounts), for small actions that the surfer takes. So, newbies can count their cents, and count their small stats. This is good, because in this case newbies don't have to wait for a month until they get their $30 sign up, or whatever.

3. THUMBS + PRODUCTIVITY

In this section, we are talking about thumbs TGPs. If you want to make a text Tgp, i suppose it's important to get a good design, layout, and text descriptions. In case of thumb TGPs, always, you have to get the best looking thumbs! This is very important, because productivity is very important! One might think a 10% increase in productivity is a small increase? WRONG !! A 10% increase in productivity on your site can DOUBLE the traffic on your site! That being said, the question is: which thumbs are the best? Well, this depends on who you trade with. So, look at your traders, look at your niche. For example, if you have a teen site that trades with teen sites, look around and see what kind of teen thumbs the most successful teen TGPs have! And try to make similar ones! Also, the size of the thumbs has to be about the same as most of your traders.

4. TRADERS

Get as many traders as you can! A lot of newbies just get like 15 active trades, and then they sit for a month wondering why their site is still at 1K/day or whatever. Well, i got news for you! You gotta get more trades! I say get like 300 Trades, it might take a day, but it is worth it. Maybe only 50 of those trades will actually start sending back traffic. So what? That means you got 50 active trades, and this means more traffic! It might take your little 1K/day site to 20K/day, if your productivity (discussed in the previous section) was good enough.
But, not only do you have to get a LOT of traders, you have to get the RIGHT traders. So, if you are teen niche, get the teen traders, if you are an MPG, get the MPG traders, etc. This is good for productivity as well.
Also, i suggest get a lot of contacts. My icq list has over 200 traders on it, that i can talk to, and setup of forces, traffic deals, or whatever, this is very important.

5. SKIM

You have to decide what % amount of traffic you will skim to galleries, and what % amount to traders. This again, depends mostly on who you trade with. If you trade mostly with sites that are 60% to galleries, then skim somewhere near to that number. If you trade with sites that are 10% to galleries, again, skim somewhere near that number. Play around with your skim, maybe make it +- 10% , or +- 20% , see what works for you.

CONCLUSION:

So, those were the 5 important things that I talked about in this article. There are more things you can do to improve your site, like get a good design, do some SEO optimization, etc. I have been able to get my sites making me $100+ in profits every day, it took me 12 months to do this. You have to figure out some things for yourself, there are going to be some things that only work for you. You gotta get your mix right, and you can maximize your profits.
